The Three Crowns

This is a traditional village pub in the heart of the Leicestershire Wolds 5 miles East of Loughborough and 12 miles south of Nottingham.

The atmosphere here is great, friendly and relaxed. The Three Crowns is a "traditional pub" with a good selection of well-kept beers, wine and spirits, good conversation and a warm welcome for all.

They normally have Marston' Pedigree and Adnams Bitter as regulars, and usually have two guest beers, such as Taylor's Landlord, or Archers. These change every couple of days.

Food is available from 12-3pm Monday to Wednesday, 12-9pm Thursday to Saturday and 12-4pm Sunday. Freshly prepared food ranges from chips to a full blown large steak with the trimmings.

You can enter the pub either from the front or the car park. The main bar area is cosy with dark wood everywhere and dark carpet. Seating is a mixture of tables and chairs and padded benches. I particularly like the seating by the real fire place. This is near the door and the fire is welcome to stop the draught when people go in and out. There is also a raised seating area towards the rear door. Toilets are outside along a covered corridor.

There is a sports bar is available for pool, table football, and darts. A function room is also available.

Quiz night every monday night

Outside is a spacious beer garden. No accommodation here.

One last thing, the main road outside can get busy and the pub car park is just in that unsighted spot, so exit gingerly.

I have been licensee at the Three Crowns Wymeswold since January 2007. The pub is now open all day from 12:00. At least four real ales are available daily including Pedigree, Adnams together with some other favourites Timothy Taylor, Theakstons, Archers etc Freshly prepared and cooked food is served daily from Midday to 9pm (4pm on Sunday and Monday). The pub also has two pool teams in the Mountsorrel Sunday evening league. (Marcia Constable - 15/3/07)
