Half Moon  

This is a really attractive pub covered in flowers and it has the certificates to prove it. This being the South the prices for both food and drink can be a little shocking to those from further North. From the outside there is a warm feeling given off, a cute a cosy atmosphere. The arched entrance, with a church seat, leads you directly to the wooden bar. Here you can see three guest ales (with a further four in the next bar) - on this occasion the range included Hogs Back TEA, Ringwood Fortyniner, Breakspear Bitter, and Fuller's London Pride. All were served without the sparkler and were well kept. For those not into real ale there is a range of country wines. This bar is not large and there are three or four tables with chairs. The window seat/table is large enough for eight people, with a seat hewn from a real tree. There are also stools at the bar and a fireplace here - above which you can see the specials food board. The second bar area is to the right of the entrance and is longer and narrow. More beers are available here as the bar itself is longer. Seating is a mixture of square and round tables with dark wood chairs and stools at the bar. Food is served daily except Sunday evening. The choices are good though prices even for the simplest sandwich can be high. When visited on a Saturday afternoon, it was nearly deserted, but we were told it gets busy of an evening. Outside there is an extensive garden area with picnic bench seating and a play area for children. Access for the disabled is good, though certain walkways appear barely wide enough for a wheelchair. A quiet pub, there is no music here. No accommodation here
