Crown and Anchor

This is a Badger Brewery pub situated on the banks of the River Allen on the outskirts of Wimborne going North.

Opposite is a petrol station. From the outside it is reminiscent of a country estate pub and inside you are not disappointed either as there is a real fire for winter warmth in a brick fireplace. Brass is dominant here as are pictures all around. The bar is a long 'L' shape and they serve both Badger Dorset Best here and Tanglefoot. Served in good condition, even if they look at you when you request the sparkler off. Other than that it's a friendly pub which serves good old fashioned lunches only, no evening meals.

Prices are fair and a ploughmans is always available.

There is no music here and in the summer there is a garden area to sit by the river.

Seating is long wall benches and tables, stools at the bar.

A haven of quiet from a busy Saturday shop.

No accommodation here.
