The Sitwell Arms

The Sitwell Arms is a friendly pub with a rural feel, despite it being a suburb of Rotherham. The pub is on the A618 south of Rotherham. If you are heading to the Classic Rock Society gigs, it is very handy for the venues and is close to the M1 junction 33.

The Sitwell Arms became a pub in 1822 and was part of the Sitwell family's Renishawe estate. The pub has received awards for its beautiful flower displays.

Access from the car park is down a steep flight of stairs. However, if you walk round the side you can enter on the ground floor. Inside you will find a low ceiling and a bar and lounge - the restaurant is in a separate room. A single bar serves both drinking areas and there is a choice of up to four guest ales - though you have to traverse the entire bar to find out what is on.

Seating is at a mixture of tables and chairs and stools on various rasied or flat levels. It would be very difficult to manouvre a wheelchair in here. There is a TV and ATM Machine. Clubs meet regularly here.

Food is served here both in the bar and restaurant from an extensive menu. The choices are traditional, but are filling and keenly priced. There is also a choice for vegetarians. Food is served Monday to Saturday 12-9pm and Sunday 12-4pm. There is a beer garden for summer to the side and a children's play area.
