 The Chequers
This pub is not far from the hospital in Rotherham, but far enough. It reminds me of the Embers Inn group pubs as the styling is twee. There is parking at the front and you enter either from the bar or the saloon. The bar has a pool table and a small amount of seating - benches and tables. The bar is also small here. The lounge bar is more comfortable and is on two levels. The shalow 'U' bar is at its longest here and you can see the gust ales on sale. This time they were Adnams Broadside, Landlord and Speckled Hen. Seating is at tables and chairs, some with wing backs and some leather sofas. The decor is very twee and slightly on the dark side, but is bearable. Food is normally served here, but not on Saturday nights. If you have come up for the Classic Rock Society gigs, they take place not too far away.
