Dolphin Hotel

This Hopback pub is a real gem and well worth seeking out. It is behind the main shopping area by the open air car parks (check map). Hopback have done with the Dolphin what they did to all their other purchases and made it into an essential stop off in Weymouth. They stock the usual well kept and served beers from Hopback plus a guest ale. These are sold at what for these days is an amazing price - ?1.50 odd a pint. This Wetherspoon territory and it makes you wonder why other brewing pub owning groups and even other pub owning micros cant match this price. However, a large distribution agreement for Summer Lightening might have something to do with it. Whatever, it is welcome to have change after a few pints. There is access for the disabled/wheelchair users right up to the bar, though not to the rear area to play pool or skittles. The light and airy feel to the pub is a blessing and the stools at the bar are useful for the quiet times, though this pub has regular clientele throughout the day. No food is served here, though there are places not far away. The train station is not far away and can be found 5 minutes away. There is accommodation here and is a recent addition and so is well up to standard. If you are in Weymouth, make a bee line to the Dolphin.
