The Vine Inn

This is one of those wondrous pubs from the inside and not much to look at from the outside - although it is not ugly. Built on the eve of war it stood up the bombing and survived to become a real West Midlands gem.

There are now ten beers served here - with the staples from the Black Country Brewery - which now owns the pub. All are well kept and at sensible prices to buy a bus ticket home after you sample all the beers.

Food is served here 12-9 daily Tuesday to Sunday.

The pub still has a public bar with its tiled floor and simple furniture - you'd be forgiven for thinking you had stepped back in time. The lounge and smoke room both have simple flooring and furniture too. So there is nothing to detract from the real ale.

A fire for the winter warms the cockles and pub games are played here.

Well worth a stop and you can find it on the 559 from Wolverhampton as it stops outside the door.
