Off the A39 adjacent to west Somerset railway station. Well, what can I say? If you want a quiet drink, forget it. This is a locals pub, a drinking pub, a real pub. The customers know how to enjoy themselves and they do along with the landlord Richard Booz (yes that is his real name). Try it, it's like no other pub I have been too. All the other pubs in Watchet are food establishments but The Anchor is the locals haunt. The beer is excellent, all very well kept and served. The pub itself was well set out. One main bar well lit and tidy, toilets were clean. Not known for it's food, bar snacks were good. Staff were as mad as the customers, brilliant atmosphere. Food available when asked for. There is accommodation, but it seems to be permanently let. Good atmosphere, beer, locals. The worst was that it had to close, we could have partied all night.
