The Swan

A lovely pub that is not far at all from the river, in fact, it's just a stones throw from the Thames. The pub has two bars a public one and a lounge bar. This might seem odd to say, but it's in commuter belt and yacht club territory and so a public bar is an oddity round these parts. This is a Young's pub and one that serves many of their beers in tip top condition. Inside is somewhat in need of a lick of paint, but this gives it its charm and should not be seen as detracting from its welcome. Check out the impressive stained glass window in the public bar depicting a swan. Most of the space is for drinkers, though there is an area that has been set aside for food, which is served here at lunch and evenings. The food is good wholesome pub food including main meals and smaller snacks. For the summer there is a beer garden and a function room is available. The toilets were fine, though access for the disabled is difficult in places, ring first to check. No accommodation here.
