The Church Inn

This is a brew pub and serves excellent ales from the Saddleworth brewery on site - up to 8 ales at times. They also have occasional guests when they run out of their own.

They serve food here too Mon-Fri 12-2.30pm, 5.30-9pm, Sat/Sun 12-9. It's good value straightforward pub food served with a smile.

The pub has an L-shaped bar and high beams and some stripped stone. One window at the end of the bar counter looks down over the valley, and there's a valley view from the quieter dining room. For summer and the brave there is a conservatory and a terrace.

For seating inside there are comfortable settles and pews as well as a good individual mix of chairs. On the walls are prints and Staffordshire and other china on a high delft shelf, jugs and brasses everywhere. note the horse-collar on the wall, this is worn by the winner of their annual gurning championship held during over the August bank holiday.

There is a TV, but they only put it on when there is sport on, but watch out for the piped music.

The garden has an assortment of pets roaming around.

Children and dogs are made to feel very welcome.
