The Stan Laurel Inn

A strange name for a pub, but the friendly locals inside and the memorabilia give the game away.

The Stan Laurel is found the road down from the roundabout with the now sadly closed Hartley's brewery on it with the Ford showroom on the left. Easily reached by public transport, Ulverston railway station is less than a mile away and the bus station just a few hundred yards away.

Beers served on this occasion were from Lytham, Keswick, Thwaites and Ulverston plus two others. All were served well and tasted good.

There are three rooms and two bars, a lounge with a stone fireplace and a wood burning stove and a public bar/games room (TV) where the Ladies toilets are. Plus there is a dining room for those quieter eating moments with nicer chairs. This is a cosy pub and has low (some beamed) ceilings. The small bar serves the beers in excellent condition.

The 6 hand pumps line up on the bar serving a wide range guests ales over the years, as evidenced by the beer clips on display.

There is a beer garden for the summer and the railway station is not far away.

Food is served 12-, 6-9 Tuesday to Saturday and 12-8 Sundays.
