The Crown Inn  

The Crown Inn, Totley is a good old fashioned family run real ale country inn boasting five real ales.

Currently overseeing the running of The Crown are brothers Richard and Lee Bennett. Lee spent his formative years as Quality Control Manager then Health and Safety Officer at a reputable motor parts manufacturers in Northamptonshire, these skills now being employed in the running of the cellar.

Richard spent 16 years as an accountant at Leeds United Football Club, and as you would expect has received plenty of ribbing from the local supporters of the South Yorkshire teams.

Regular beers are: Stones Best Bitter, Tettleys Bitter, and Fullers London Pride.

As well a the set menu there are many specials available on the specials board which change daily. All food is freshly prepared on the premises and meat and vegetables are purchased from local producers daily. Yorkshire Pudding with Thick Gravy; Deep Fried Breaded Scampi ; Hot Pork or Beef Sandwich. There are a couple of vegetarian dishes.

Occasional music - jazz. To find the pub: from the North take the M1 to Junction 34 (Meadowhall), Follow the signs for Sheffield Arena. At Sheffield Arena turn onto the A6102 (the Ring road) (signposted 'Centertainment'). Follow the A6102 until you reach the A61. Go across the Roundabout onto the B6054. Follow the B6054 until you reach a 'T' junction sign-posted Totley, (the Shepley Spitfire Pub should be right in front of you). Turn Right. Follow the signs for Totley A621. Turn Left onto The A621. Up the hill approx. half a mile, turn right into Hillfoot Road (opposite ?The Fluer De Lyse? pub). Follow the road round to The Crown on your Left. Alternatively:- Exit The M1 at Junction 36. Sign-posted Sheffield A61. Follow the A61 through Sheffield until you reach the A621. Turn into the A621 follow the signs to Totley, then as before. From The South take the M1 to Junction 29, A617 Chesterfield. Follow the A617 to the round about. Follow the signs for the A61. Take the A61 to the round about that joins the B6054, then as from the North.
