The Lord John

This is a Wetherspoon pub, but it is not as dour as they are usually, being a bit brighter inside and out.

There is a large bar area with a high glass ceiling that lights up the room in the sunlight. To your left on entrance there is a raised seating area which is carpeted. The main bar area is bare boards the full length of the long bar (see pic). At the back of the pub there are booths round the corner and a terrace overlooking a wall for the summer. The toilets are also here, downstairs, though there are disabled access and toilets.

The food is the same as the rest of the chain, which means good value and reasonable portions, well cooked and edible.

There are usually four guest ales on around South West themes, all kept well and served without sparkler if you wish.
