Angel Inn

The Angel has some very good food, the best in East Anglia.

The building is very pretty with centuries-old beams and fireplaces that still welcome drinkers, but its main business is now with the kitchen. The bar can become rather busy at times. The staff are pleasant and cope with the pressure in a business like way. If you want a bite to eat, you can grab a table in the bar or reserve one in the slightly more sedate restaurant (mushroom and pistachio pâté; chicken and king prawn brochette with yoghurt and mint dip; dark chocolate ganache gâteau. There is only one menu though with specials on the blackboards. Fish (all sorts) seems to be big on the menu done in many different ways (food served 12-2, 6.30 (7 Sun) -9).

The beers are Greene King IPA, Abbot Ale, Adnams Bitter and a guest brew this time Iceni Bodecia.

Needless to say, Dedham Vale and Constable country make this area a tourist hot spot.

There is no children's license, but a patio.

There is no smoking in one room and no music either.

Accommodation is available, 6 rooms in all. En-suite costs £60 to £70.
