The Kings Head

A very pretty thatched barn style building not far from the bustle of Corfe Castle on the road to Warham.

This 17th century inn has excellent views of the surrounding area. It also has a long history of relating to the castle as Cromwell's men were billeted here during the siege.

You enter half way down, and the bar is to your right. The inside is also full of history and the walls are covered with memorabilia of its history. You tend tog et the feeling of this pub being an eatery rather than drinking, but there is space for standing up and enjoying yourself. There is split level flooring in places which makes full negotiation of the pub difficult for the disabled.

The separate dining area serves good quality meals, though prices might seem higher for visitors, but this is a rather wealthy area of Dorset so keep that in mind.

For the summer there are benches outside or you can sit in the patio area and eat. One plus point is that children are allowed in if kept under control.

Also in the summer there is a beer festival here.

No accommodation here.
