The Blue Cow Inn

The inn can be found 1/2 mile from the A1 in the village of South Witham.

It is a 13thC inn with open log fires in winter, stone floors and a wealth of beamed ceilings and walls.

Whether its your first visit or a return one, Dick and Julia Thirlwell will make you feel welcome.

The inn also has a patio beer garden for those warm evenings, a secure stable yard and stables at the rear and a large private car park. In March 1997 the landlord was granted license to brew on site.

The brewing plant is in what was an old stone stable at the rear of the Blue Cow and he brews only for the pub. Hence people from far and wide come to try the beers. Food is served here from 12-2.30pm then 6-9.30pm.

You can choose to dine in the bars or smoke free dining room. The menu is varied and caters for most tastes including vegetarians. Sunday Lunch - only the Roast Carvery and vegetarian selection are available with a choice of roasts, starters and sweets.

There is an 12 seat courtesy coach available for groups of 8 or more using the restaurant. This is limited to pickup within a 10 mile radius of the Blue Cow, that is between Grantham, Stamford, Oakham and Melton Mowbray.

There is accommodation here with 6 en-suite rooms including full English breakfast. Prices range from single£45-£50, double £55-£60.
