The Eagle

Anyone finding themselves in the Crabbs Cross area just outside of Redditch on the A448, looking for a tasty pint may wish to try the Eagle on the Evesham Road. Licensee Gerry Hedge took over the pub in April 1997 and recognised there was a need to introduce a much wider range of real ales than was previously on offer.

Following the re-decoration of this cosy local, extra hand pumps were installed. These offered a selection of real ales from the Tapster's Choice range (Carlsberg-Tetley). Not exactly from micro-breweries, but better than none.

The licensee said "Local interest in real ale has been incredible, and is directly responsible for an upturn in sales". Following alterations to the cellar, he now plans to install a further two hand pumps, which means that soon there will be four changing guest ales alongside the permanent Tetley bitter and milds from Ansells and Banks's.

There is a newly laid out beer garden and there are plans for an extension to the bar. No accommodation here.
