The Whip Inn

The Whip Inn is a rustic country pub with outstanding views that is at least 150 years old. The pub has a delightful patio garden overlooking the oldest working smock windmill in the country. There is a good selection of real ales, as well as the usual beers and lagers, and a mouth-watering menu of wide variety. Magic views of Windmill and Chiltern Valley. Bar food: 12-2.30 and 6-9, Sunday Lunch and vegetarian meals available. Bar food from £7.95.

Richard is a talented cook, and provides anything from a sandwich to a full meal throughout the day. A popular place for both lunch and dinner, all the food is freshly prepared and Richard's sauces are fast gaining a superb reputation locally. The Whip Inn is a place of open fires, old oak beamed ceilings, with a relaxed cosy atmosphere.

The country feel is completed by the interesting assortment of memorabilia hanging from the walls and beams, including a mix of jugs, gleaming horse brasses, old saddlery, and even gas masks and old vinyl records.

Beer garden for summer.
