Bird I' Th' Hand

A single story brick (inside) pub done out in Laura Ashley style with fake beamed ceiling. A pool table and satellite TV can dominate at night. Mainly known as a food pub (sometimes you have to wait 40 minutes for a table), it does some good traditional and more esoteric grub. However, there is little for the vegetarian. Prices are fair at around £6-£8. As for beers there were four on but they were all from the nationals. Usually there is a guest beer, but not on this occasion. Seating is at dark wood tables for two and six with matching dark chairs. Towards the toilets there are high chairs/stool and tables to match. Toilets are accessible by the disabled and are tiled floor to ceiling. Large car park with beer garden and kids climbing frame. The station nearby is Gathurst.
