The Old Fighting Cocks

The Old Fighting Cocks in Oakengates is a Project William pub from Everards that the Ironbridge Brewery run. The Old Fighting Cocks is Ironbridge Brewery‘s first pub and is a showcase for Ironbridge Ales.

As such it will always take an Everards beer, but stocks up to eight other ales, always with a selection from the Ironbridge Brewery.

There is no food served here, though you can bring your own as they supply plates and cutlery. there are plenty of takeaways on Market Street, so you should be spoilt for choice.

Seating and decor is all modern light wood and the pub is cavernous as it goes back rather than to the sides. The toilets are at the back too. The back room of the pub is more in keeping with a traditional pub style than the front.

They don’t have a big telly here or music, just a hubbub of conversation.

There is also a cinema here - The Oakengates Picture House - above the pub. It means you could have a good night out in one place.

Well worth a stop.
