Stag and Pheasant

This is a nice little village pub in a quiet area with one main street through it.

The Stag is a long thatched cottage from the outside and a big car park to the rear. The local history society says that it is the oldest A-frame building in Warwickshire. The inside has a single bar that faces you as you enter from the front. It reminds me very much of a 1970s pub in terms of decor and furnishing. Now don't let that put you off as it is very much a locals pub that is very friendly. At the left end is the more comfortable seating and the right end accommodates the pub teams. Apparently there is a ghost in the cellar.

The beer is usually one from Bank's and one from a rotating guest. Be warned though that the guest tends to be on at weekends when it will be drunk and not wasted.

Food is also served here lunch and evenings and they are good value - though reminiscent of school diners.

All food is home cooked including the chips. For children there is a small play area outside and a small garden.

No accommodation here.
