The Red House  

The Red House is a family run free house, set in the beautiful Vale of Belvoir, on the A606 Melton Mowbray to Nottingham Road.

Formerly an old coaching Inn, its features include a separate Restaurant, Lounge Bar, Saloon Bar, and Conservatory.

Outside there is an enclosed Beer Garden (with free roaming rabbits), Petanque pitch (French Bowls), plus Miniature Ponies, Goats, Guinea Pigs etc., to amuse both adults and children alike.

Disabled access can best be described as good as the Pub is virtually all on one level, with wide doorways throughout. Toilet cubicles are also large by modern standards.

Beers tend to be BASS, but they serve Highgate Dark and a guest ale.

They have a 40-50 seat restaurant with additional space available in the adjoining lounge. This makes an ideal venue for events such as club presentation dinners, Weddings, Anniveraries, Birthdays, Christmas Parties, Business Dinners etc. Menus include Soup, Fruit Juice, Roast Beef, Pork and Turkey, plus vegetables, potatoes and traditional accompaniments, choice of Homemade Sweets (usually 6 - 10 different dishes). Vegetarians can be catered for by prior arrangement. The Red House has skittles & petanque (outdoor but floodlit). They offer a range of food served everyday all day.

Taken over once more in 2008. Beer prices have reduced but Belvoir Brewery no longer supply. Courage + one guest appear to be the norm. (10/10/08 - Bob)

Now fully refurbished and renamed The Red House. Food and accommodation are not cheap although excellent quality. More of a posh eating house than a pub although you can buy Belvoir Bitter which they seem to keep very well. (22/12/03)
