The Countryman Freehouse
The Countryman is about 15 minutes walk from the station. From the station doors walk directly to the main road in a straight line. Turn left and walk down Grafton Gate to the roundabout, then go straight over and carry on until you see a supermarket sign for 'Aldi' on your right. This is Bradwell Common Boulevard. Walk down there until you come to a roundabout, The Countryman should now be visible up ahead on your left. Now that you have got there, sample the real ales at the bar, usually a minimum of three are available at any one time. Alas it has no accommodation. However, this is made up for by the pleasant nature of the landlord who is willing to discuss anything with you. The Countryman also does food, but not on Saturday nights. The restaurant is situated at the back of the pub (until 6pm Saturdays) and away from the bar so should be good for children.
