The Cask  

Cask is a small bar sitting on a corner of the Deansgate Locks end of Liverpool Road and you could easily walk straight past the bar as its exterior and stature is so unobtrusive.

Inside, it goes for a relatively pared-down look, preferring to concentrate on the quality of drinks and service that it has to offer rather than showy decor. The floor is terracotta tiled, the walls are scarlet and the small bar on the left as you walk in can get very busy.

As for the seating, as well as the bog standard hard wooden chairs and tables you find in most pubs in Manchester there are also plump brown mini sofas as well as an ochre-coloured banquette.

Food is served here like sandwiches, but they let you bring in your own food.

Up to three ales on.
