Maypole Inn

The Maypole Inn is open all year round. Long Preston lies the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It is an ideal centre for walking or touring holidays with open moorland, the hill slopes of the Pennines, caves and waterfalls are all within easy reach of the village. Long Preston is near to the thriving market town of Settle, Skipton and Kirkby Lonsdale, and less than an hours drive from the Lake District and the forest of Bowland.

It is a village that offers access to the heart of Yorkshire, Lancashire and Cumbria.

The pub has a bit of history too. In 1695, Ambrose Wigglesworth opened the doors to his first customers. Three hundred years later, you still get a warm welcome in this seventeenth century inn situated beside the Maypole Green in the picturesque Dales.

A no music pub, the Maypole has was first pub to win the CAMRA Pub of the season award for the fourth time - for the summer of 1997.

The Maypole's two bars offer a good selection of hand-pulled ales the inn has been selected four times as CAMRA Pub of the season for the district.

With open fires for the cool winter months and outside seating by the pretty green during the summer, it is well patronised by both locals and visitors, being easily found opposite the vilage green.

The Maypole Inn has long had a strong reputation for serving fine home cooking in its warm, spacious dining room. As well as traditional pub dishes, there is a varied menu of daily specials which include vegetarian and fish dishes. Restaurant and bar food is available daily 12-2pm; evening meals are a little different, Mon-Thur 6.30-9pm, Fri 6.30-9.30pm, Sat 12(5.30 Winter)-9.30pm, Sun 12-9pm.

The Maypole Inn does accommodation and has six en-suite bedrooms which are comfortable and well furnished with TV, tea/coffee facilities. The rooms vary in size and can accommodate everyone from single guests to family groups. There is a separate sitting room for guests. It is also English Tourist Board commended.
