The Roebuck

The Roebuck is right up on the top of Richmond Hill, close to the park gates. In fact it is opposite some of the best views from Richmond. Cross the road and you can take your drinks too, to sit on the terrace overlooking the park and the river. This is a truly stunning way to spend the afternoon.

The pub itself has grown over the years and has expanded into the building on the left (see picture). From the outside it looks rather plain and uninviting. However, once inside you are treated to low ceilings and wood and flag floors. Beams abound and you can sit in many different places, all with the feel of seclusion.

There are usually up to four guest ales on and all were served at the right temperature, though a top up is sometimes necessary to ask for. Prices are as you would expect top pay in Richmond, but the view is stunning.

Food is also served here and the menu is on the wall after you enter. This has plenty of good favourites to choose from and all at reasonable prices. They have won prizes in the past for their pie and sausages. Food is served all day Saturday and Sunday and at lunchtimes and evenings at other times.
