The Red Lion

The Red Lion is an interesting pub with a good bit of history on the inside.

Once inside you get the full effect of the mirrors all over the walls. This gives the pub a sense of light as it reflects the outside into what could be a rather dim pub. This all adds to the atmosphere as this is a small pub which can get very busy at lunchtimes.

The dark island bar has that look of warmth you only get from an old boozer. All around you is the ornate, in the fittings, on the ceiling, on the walls on the glass, etc. The Red Lion was built in 1821 to serve the staff of the surrounding houses of the rich, giving them a taste of the high life.

Food is served here all day and is traditional for the city.

Close to Piccadilly Circus and Green Park tube and not far from Charing Cross either.
