Mad Bishop and Bear

This pub is part of the front of Paddington Station (underground nearby), though you have to go inside and up some escalators to get to it. It also has the problem of being temporarily shut when there are sports travellers in the station to stop them getting drunk and violent.

Very much like a Wetherspoon (has no smoking area) on the inside with both tables to sit at and those to stand and lean against. The dark carpet hides a multitude of sins (but is designed to do that), and the ambiance is good.

To get to it you have to go in to the station and the pub is above and behind you. Go into the food area and there is are two escalators to go up before you see the pub.

The beer choice here is OK and in actual fact it is very quiet despite the station being constantly busy.

On the outside there are some tables and chairs for a sort of pseudo alfresco drinking experience.

Food is served here both lunch and evening and is similar to the eponymous Wetherspoon food, though not as cheap and not served as late.

No accommodation here.
