The Western  

The Western is one of a small number of pubs run by the Steamin' Billy Brewery, with this one just around the corner from the student heavy Braunstone Gate area.

It stocks the Steamin' Billy brews.

There's a traditional two room layout, the décor has old brewerania signs. There are a mixture of booths and sofas. The two physical bars are small so can get busy when the pub is full. However, staff are quick and do their best.

A friendly place with a relaxed atmosphere, cheap food and good music.

Can get busy before/after matches (football/rugby).

There is a real fire in winter.

Food is served here mainly at lunchtimes and is sandwiches and pizza plus burgers. There is a choice of food for vegetarians. Food is served till 5pm on Sunday and you can get pizza 6-9pm Monday to Saturday.

Well worth seeking out.
