Real Ale Classroom  

This is a micropub on the outskirts of Leicester centre. It is a bus ride from the station.

They serve up to five real ales here (the beer blackboard or you find out online), though often four, plus real cider and canned craft beer.

Inside it is decked out as a classroom, with the de-rigour benches and old school tables. They are not easy to sit at if you want to lean on your elbows.

The beer is served form chiller cabinet behind the high bar.

For the winter there is a log burner in the rear room - be prepared for a 'childish' fight to get the best seats.

Tables are larger than normal where possible to encourage conversation.

No food here, but bar snacks are available, including pork pies, cheese board/charcuterie.

Occasional live music.

Smoking Area.

The best pub in what is a residential area.
