King's Head

On platform 1 at the opposite end to the Head of Steam, this pub is a real boozer. With tiled floor and one large room it has sparse seating. The bar is an 'L' shape and has a small room on one side which you can see into.

There is also another room on the left of the bar. This has a piano in it along with some more comfortable seating than the main room. The main room also has a stage in it and there is live music twice a week.

The real ales are all unusual ones and are sold at a keen price - £2 a pint for most. A couple of continental beers are available in the fridge.

They don't do food, but do have rolls available in a chiller on the bar.

Toilets are a bit in need of some TLC, but you don't come here for them.

Access for the disabled is good, though a trek from the pub as the ramp is at the other end of the station entrance.

All in all well worth a stop if you are passing through Huddersfield.
