The Dun Cow

The Dun Cow, with its Hornton stone walls and thatched roof, is situated in the middle of the village of Hornton, just east of the A422 and close to the National Trust's Upton House.

The building dates back to the early 1600s when it was a butcher's and slaughter house. The interior of the main bar still has the original flagstone floor and an inglenook fireplace, which has log and coal fires during the colder periods.

Two real ales are constantly stocked with a maximum of two guest ales which are forever changing. Draught ciders are also available. Fruit country wines are also stocked, as are a variety of meads, unusual bottled beers and ciders.

Traditional style pub meals are available. A frequently changing 'Specials' board is also available in the evenings. All meals are cooked freshly to order. A Take-away fish and chip service runs during 6-9pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, again all is freshly cooked to order.

Children are welcome in the pub and there is a safe playground area across the road from the pub and garden.
