Farmers Arms

This pub is situated about a mile south of Eccelston. It has a split level bar and despite being a Whitbread pub has guest ales. There are ducks in the garden you can feed, and a large car park. Watch out for the pub cat too as it likes duck as well. Inside there are three separate wooden beamed areas. The top level entry from the car park leads to the eating area heavy with old pictures on the walls and horse brasses. Seating is red velour benches and padded chairs with dark carpet. Down the steps is the bar area, it's a small area too and can get crowded, even at lunchtime. Beers on at the bar were Castle Eden and Timothy Taylor Landlord, the rest were Whitbread blands. This is really a food pub (12-9.30) and does lots of choices for vegetarians. Prices are around ?5 and upwards. There is also a traditional public bar where you can eat too (it doesn't get busy here at lunchtimes). There is darts and a sports TV here. The toilets are through the public bar and are clean and tidy. They have recently started doing accommodation @ ?45 per double room. Accommodation is all new and dark wood Laura Ashley style. The staff are friendly and helpful and I would recommend you visit as it's not far from 'Camelot'. Access for the disabled are fine if you enter via the road entrance., though a small step needs to be negotiated.
