The Queens Head

This 17th century inn serves ales from Robinsons plus a guest. If you prefer they also have a good selections of malt whiskies available.

Food is served here both lunchtime and evenings using predominantly local and regional ingredients. Food is cooked from fresh and is worth the wait. Food is served in the bar or you can book a table in the dining room (which has two sittings during busy periods - 6.15 and 8.45pm. Food times are: Monday to Friday 12-2.30pm, 6.15-9.30pm; Saturday 12-4.30pm, 6.15-9.30pm; Sunday 12-5pm, 6.15-9.30pm.

The pub is real olde worlde with wood panelled walls and flag floors. There are real fires in winter that warm the pub. Note the famous 'Haksid Girt Clog' above the fire place. Seating is at dark wood tables and chairs and there are some window seating, oh, and don't forget the low ceilings.

The bar is opposite the main entrance and is panelled and curved. They serve up to four ales here including winter specials from Robinson's such as Old Tom.

There is accommodation here in 13 rooms. Some have uneven floors, crooked walls and can creak, but that is all part of the charm. They welcome dogs in the cottage annexe.

Free Wi-Fi is available in the bar and dining areas. They will also do a packed lunch if you are going walking.

Car parking is by permit in the public car park a short walk away.
