The Bell Inn

This is an early 19th century pub in a small village across the main road from East Langton. Very much a locals pub, even on a quiet night. Don't let this put you off as the beer choice can be very good for these parts. However, the food can also be quite expensive - unless you are a senior citizen going for lunch where there is a discount price offered. This pub is very much the home of Leicestershire's cricketing fraternity, there are bats and other memorabilia all over the place. If you look carefully there is even a plate with David Gower's name on it. Note also the miniature cricket bats in a case as you enter the pub. The decor is very much country pub style with exposed beams and whitewashed walls. Seating is at benches against the windows and chairs at round and square dark wood tables. There are also some stools at the 'L' shaped bar. The bar is centrally heated, though there is a real fire to keep you warm otherwise. Food is served throughout the pub, though there is a no smoking room to the left of the entrance corridor. For the summer there is a large beer garden suitable for children. The beers on sale were all well kept if a little expensive.
