The Bat and Ball

You can be sure of a great time when you want to relax and enjoy yourself here. Taste some of the worlds finest ales (like Ringwood 49r, Youngs Bitter, Hogs Back T.E.A , Hambledon Bitter) and good food. There is a large, south facing garden popular with the children with a play structure. For the adults there is a patio and vine covered pergola backing onto the Bourne stream. The pub was renovated in 2003. It's now a warm and inviting mix of old and new with terracotta tiles on the floor around the bar, plenty of wooden furniture, oak beams and supporting posts. There is cricket memorabilia on the re-exposed panelled walls and a roaring open log fire for colder times. The pub serves a wide ranging menu to suite all tastes and all ages (12-2.15, 7-9.30 Mon-Sat; 12-3, 6-8.30 Sun). You can eat anywhere you like and there is a no smoking section. All food is homemade. Relax in the pleasant atmosphere either inside this quaint English pub or in the gardens outside and large car parking area. You can also indulge in traditional pub games. Guest ales are well kept and vary by region. No accommodation here but try the Duke of Cambridge on East Street. The toilets have been modernized and there are disabled facilities. To reduce smoke they installed a ventilation system throughout the smoking parts of the pub.
