The Queen Elizabeth
This pubs claim to fame, and its name, is that Elizabeth I visited the village in 1575.
It is an olde worlde community pub with a modern interior. It is owned by 26 local residents after it was threatened with closure.
They serve two regular ales and two guests here with a real cider available at all times.
There's a comfortable lounge with carpets and cushioned seating.
Food is served here Tuesday to Saturday 12(9am for breakfast)-2 and 6-9pm, 12-4 on Sunday. You can eat in the lounge bar or the separate dining room.
The saloon bar is more rustic and has a flagstone floor, timber beams and a roaring fire.
There are regular weekly and monthly themed food evenings and two annual beer festivals on the May and August bank holidays.
For the summer there is a beer garden and a real fire for the winter.
Parking is available and dogs are welcome.
Family friendly.
