Duke of Cumberland

16th century thatched inn, log fires in winter, accommodation, restaurant and bar meals. Large garden and car park.

The Duke avoids too many mass-marketed drinks and have instead selects the best of local suppliers. For the beer that means the Cotswold Brewing Company, who are based just twelve miles from the pub. They produce the lagers and a selection of local ales, as well as brewing their own 'Duke of Cumberland's Head' bitter.

Food is served here all year, though during the winter they do not serve food weekday lunchtimes. They start serving at 6pm every day. On Saturdays food is available 12-2.30pm, 6.30-9.30pm and Sunday lunch is 12-6pm.

This is not gastro pub grub, just good honest competitive food. They use local ingredients and they grow most of the vegetables themselves. They are good at recycling as well, any vegetables not used are fed to the livestock, who in turn provide pork and eggs.

They have plenty of events here, check out the website for more information.

There is accommodation here too.
