The Alvanley Arms Inn

The Alvanley Arms is a 400 year old family run Inn, nestling in the small village of Cotebrook near Tarporley in Cheshire, run by Alistair and Janet King. Located in the heart of the Cheshire countryside the Alvanley Arms country pub boasts magnificent views of the sun rising to the east over the Trout Lake and the sun setting in the west over fields where lambs gambol in the spring. The Alvanley Arms Inn has an atmosphere that is quite unique. The theme throughout is related to Shire Horses. Rosettes, pictures, photographs, harness & horseshoes adorn the walls identifying the Inn with the adjacent Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre also owned by the King family. The oak beamed bar offers a wide range of hand pulled cask ales, a large selection of wines & malt whiskies along with a welcoming log fire. There is an extensive traditional menu as well as an imaginative Specials Board, which changes weekly.

They aim to provide customers with quality service delivered by enthusiastic well trained staff. This is achieved with the help of good Chefs using locally produced products, fresh fish is a speciality delivered directly from the seaports up to five times a week. Also used is home reared Pork, Lamb and Aberdeen Angus Beef.

The Alvanley Arms is the ideal place to stay for business people who prefer a friendly welcome to the anonymity of many larger hotels. The Alvanley Arms is open all year around offering in summer an attractive Beer Garden overlooking the duck pond and the trout lake beyond and in winter a cosy bar with a glowing log fire. A warm personal welcome is always assured from Alistair and Janet and all their staff. They hope you enjoy your time with them, whether you pop in for a quick drink, enjoy a meal or relax for an overnight stay.
