Rose and Crown  

This pub comes highly recommended by all concerned. In the town centre this local style pub is unspoilt and if you look carefully you can see the Greene King brewery from it. You can also talk to brewery staff here as they frequent it at lunch and after work. Food is only served at lunchtimes though, which is a nuisance as it has accommodation. Go there for the mild and other GK beers - no music.
