The Red Lion

This pub is situated by the finest stretch of river, fell and moorland scenery in Yorkshire. Originally a 16th century ferryman's inn, the Red Lion at Burnsall is open for accommodation and meals throughout the year.

It offers superb food, fine wines and real ale - varies, but Wolf Wiold Mild on at time. It also has a roaring log fire in winter to warm yourself by after a long slog in the moors, beamed ceilings, creaky floors and a true Yorkshire welcome which awaits you here at a family owned hotel.

The hotel stands on the right bank of the Wharf, facing south across the village green towards Burnsall Fell. It is situated amid picturesque scenery, to which there is easy access for many lovely walks, there's even a golf course: Skipton and Ilkley 11 miles, Harrogate 25 miles away. If you fancy fishing they have private fishing available to guests, with 7 miles of trout and grayling fishing. Tickets issued by the local clubs are on sale at the hotel to resident guests.

The Restaurant is excellent and the service prompt and courteous. Terrace Room are also available for private functions throughout the year, as is their full outside catering service, with individual menus tailored to your requirements.

The bedrooms are traditionally furnished, with many antiques, all have en-suite or private bathrooms, and most have wonderful views of the river and fell. It is RAC and AA Appointed (2 star), and Tourist Board 3 crowns commended.
