The Joiners Arms

A pub in one of the small Leicestershire villages near Market Harborough. This is really a food pub that does a couple of real ales. When we visited all the tables were set out for eating, with nowhere to sit if you just wanted a drink. That said they did serve a good Greene King IPA and Pedigree to have with your meal. The food (12-2, 6.30-9,30) is made to order by a chef, so be prepared to wait a while. Also food not cheap, two course Sunday lunch ?10.95, ordinary meal during week can cost up to ?15 for a main course. That said, the food is good - unless you are a vegetarian and the choice is limited. Portions may look small, but they certainly fill you up. The Joiners is a pub and still has the pub feel to it with low beamed ceilings and dark carpet on the floor. There are a couple of bench seats in the windows front and back and the rest are chairs round square or oblong tables, set out with plenty of cutlery and wine glasses. Be prepared to stand your ground to have beer with your meal if you wish to. Beautiful views from around here and not far from the Foxton locks. Worth a stop if you are hungry for TV chef type food.
