The Old Kings Head

The Old Kings Head is one of four great pubs in this quiet Cumbrian village. It is a family run pub and great care is taken to provide all guests with a first class service from a snack to a full meal in the restaurant.

Conveniently situated on the A593 to Conniston, the pub has a beer garden for summer and also a children's playground area.

Set on the slope of a hill, the Kings Head has an olde worlde feel to it with low beamed ceilings and multiple rooms for eating and drinking - some step down to main eating area. The bar is to the right on entrance through a set of doors. Here you will find up to four guest ales, all well kept and served with or without sparkler. The chimney has been recently dry lined to enable an open fire.

Food is excellent and there is plenty of choice including a vegetarian one. A children's menu is available also.

There is accommodation here: Bed & Breakfast.

If you are travelling through southern Lakeland then the Old Kings Head is the place to call in.

Comments

Had a meal with my wife in the Old Kings Head, Broughton in Furness a couple of weeks ago and without word of a lie it was the best pub meal we have ever had. Beckstones Leat Ale was on top form too. (7/8/04)

The memory of the chicken royale sandwich still makes my mouth water. (16/8/04)
