The Waggon and Horses

The Waggon and horses is situated in Church Street opposite The Royal Pavilion. A real locals pub with a warm welcome for new faces.

The decor is traditional without being overpowering, clean and bright with good quality paintings with local interest.

Good disabled access to the bar and toilets.

They serve four changing ales. They also do a whisky selection.

As for food, only bar food available from midday to 3 o'clock, but tasty bangers mash and peas with gravy, sandwiches, jacket potatoes, and daily specials all served by friendly staff.

Has a great atmosphere.

Sorry but no accommodation available here, however the staff are more helpful than the local hotel agencies.

Harvey's Ales are the best! And The Lord Nelson Inn in Brighton (just out the door of the train station to your right, then next left down the hill on Trafalgar Street a few blocks to 36 Trafalgar Street) keeps them in top condition (a plaque outside the doorway says something like "Casque Marque" checks up on them.) Nice little beer garden, too. Very friendly folks. Tell 'em the guys from Waco sent you! Enjoy. (Jess)
