Canalside Cafe  

This is a café by the canal side. From the outside it is a cute little cottage complete with home cooking to match the quaint décor. They do a selection of vegetarian options too.

As this is the canal there are tables outside for the summer and a roaring fire inside for the winter.

There are usually 4 ales on, two guests and two regulars from local breweries.

Seating inside is quaint and gives a real olde worlde feeling to the place miles away from the overpriced plastic pubs close by.

Worth seeking out as you have to go down to the canal from Gas Street - look out for gaps in the buildings to get onto the tow-path.
