The Bull Inn
Originally built in 1601 with many later additions, The Bull Inn can be found on the eastern edge of Benenden Village Green. Famous for the game of cricket and the girls’ school with the same name, Benenden is a typically English village.
The Bull is a popular destination. There is plenty of comfortable seating in the bar areas and cosy fires for the colder months. The bar has a fabulous roaring fire, historic local photographs, wooden floorboards and an eclectic mix of antique furniture.
There is a wonderful menu of traditional pub fayre for example home cooked steak and kidney pudding, fresh cod in beer batter and wild rabbit stew. The Bull Inn boasts the best Sunday lunch in the area. There are special nights - curry - and deals for senior citizens.
The range of local beers on sale make this a popular meeting place.
The main building is centred around an inglenook fireplace which has two gabled salt niches and integral seats. The pub was extended at the beginning and the end of the nineteenth century including the addition of the unusual chinoiserie windows.
The pub also has live music on a regular basis.
