Exeter Arms

This pub is in a wonderful setting opposite the village pond which is visited by all sorts of water fowl during the year. Built of stone this pub overlooks the Welland Valley.

It is also home of the Barrowden Brewery in one of the out buildings. All are well served and chilled with or without sparkler.

Access is from the front only and there is a ramp, so access for the disabled is good. Once inside there are two areas, one mainly for the excellent meals served here both lunch and evening Tuesday to Saturday with Sunday lunches as well. All food is cooked to order and tastes that way. Prices can be a little more than in a city, but it still gets very busy from both locals and those travelling from further afield.

The second area near the bar is mainly for drinking and is narrow with a window seat and fireplace. Amidst all this they have regular live music. This is a real "pub is the hub" place as it is always busy with atmosphere and customers. Outside there is a beer garden on the slope for summer. Well worth a visit if you are on your way to and from Peterborough or Stamford as it is just off the main A47

Opening times vary with the seasons, so it is best to check in advance if making a special journey.
