The Crown Inn

The pub is tucked away on the far side of the village near the canal and a road that leads only to a bridle-path. You are not likely to spot it 'passing by'.

The pub dates back to the early 1800s, and was originally bargee cottages when the local canal was constructed. The lounge was originally stables.

There is a large patio area adjacent to the top car park and the bottom car park is next to the canal with additional outdoor seating at the front of the pub looking out onto open fields.

With moorings opposite the pub the Crown is popular with boaters and locals alike.

Food is served here and is traditional with a couple of choices for vegetarians, there is also a specials board. Serving times are Monday to Saturday 11-2.30pm, Wednesday to Saturday 6-8.30pm.

The Crown Inn hosts events all year round - e.g. local Morris Dancers and a pub quiz every Thursday night.
