A white-washed cottage style pub with picnic benches outside on the tarmac. The difference with this pub is that it has an interior of outstanding interest. This free house takes regular guest beers and changes them often. In doing so it won the Pub of the Year award in 2004. The public bar is on the left of entrance and has an unusual bench attached to the bar. The decor fits nicely with the narrow space and the fireplace at one end just squeezes itself in. Note the jugs on the ceiling beams. There is also a hatch area for out of the bar drinking on a slate floor. Other rooms are there for both eating and drinking. Food is served Wednesday to Sunday evenings only at the moment. No accommodation here.
