In the centre of the village of Whalley, not too far
from the Abbey. This building was originally a stables, but has extended itself
into adjoining buildings and is now a large pub. The different area of the pub
all have one theme, though there are different pictures massed together. The
room to the left of the entrance has a lot of fishing memorabilia around the
walls including rods. The seating is at a mixture of round and square
tables with bench seating and chairs, though there are some stools. Carpet is
dark throughout. The pub slopes down to the rear and involves a step. Access for
the disabled is OK, though only to the top end of the pub. There is space in
front of the bar for a wheelchair, though on busy nights - weekend - this space
can get

bright pub with disabled access to the front. Food:
Generous portions at a reasonable price, staff attentive. Food is served all
day. There is accommodation here, good value for money, single £35, not sure
about the rest of the prices, cracking breakfast! Beers on at the time were:
Moorhouses Swan Ale 3.7% - £1.50, Hobgoblin 4.5% - £2.20, Black Sheep 3.8% -
£1.76.
